Room Eleven

Okay, so I go through music phases, and there is such a phase that is and will always remain timeless. That phase for me is jazz. I'm a dire fan of old school cabaret jazz and I hold classic artists such as Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, and Louie Armstrong close to my heart. It is hard to find artists today with that classy cabaret feel and sound until I came across Room Eleven and their latest album "Mmm Gumbo", and I have to say they give me my jazzy fix. They mastered mixing that old school sound while remaining youthful and fresh. These days it seems as if kids are into what is supposedly 'in' or 'trendy' when it comes to music, and I think it is time for cabaret jazz to make its comeback and Room Eleven could help bring back our soulful jazzy roots and bestow the appreciation of sophisticated and tasteful jazz upon our youth.
